Q: How do I begin using e-mail?
A: In order to use the E-mail Client, you need to have the following information to fill in the fields of your e-mail settings:

  1. The name of your POP and SMTP servers
  2. Your account name
  3. Your POP account password
  4. Your e-mail address
With this information, you can begin using the NeoPlanet Browser e-mail immediately. If you do not know any part of the required info, please contact your ISP and ask them for it. They should be able to provide it for you.
Note: Your NeoPlanet Browser e-mail will only work with an existing POP address. If you use AOL, Compuserve, Hotmail, or any other online e-mail service, you will not be able to use the NeoPlanet Browser e-mail unless that specific service has provided you a fully-compliant POP e-mail address.

How to test your e-mail settings :

  • Open your e-mail settings window by selecting the "E-mail" menu option and selecting "E-mail Settings" (F11) .
  • Under the area where you define your servers, select the link that says "Help me with my e-mail servers" .
  • Enter the information required in the fields provided .
  • Run either test to see if you can download or send mail. A dialogue will pop up indicating success or failure.
How to begin using e-mail:
  • Open the e-mail settings window (F11).
  • Enter the required information. A dialog will inform you if something is missing or there is an incorrect setting.

Q: How do I read mail?
A: Right-click the "Mail" button on the toolbar and select "Read E-mail" (F9). This will bring up your existing folders and the messages within those folders. Just click the folder from which you would like to access mail, and double-click the specific message you want to read.
How to read your mail :

  • Open the "Read E-mail" window (F9).
  • Select the folder with the message you want to read.
  • Double-click the message you want to read
How to delete an e-mail message:
  • Open the "Read E-mail" window (F9).
  • Open the folder with the message you want to delete in it .
  • Select the message you want to delete to highlight it.
  • Hit the DELETE (DEL) key.

Q: How do I write mail?
A: Right-click the "Mail" button on the toolbar and select "Write E-mail" (F10). This will bring up a new message window. Define a "To:" field (the person to whom you're writing) and a "Subject:" (the topic of the message). You can also send the same message to other people by adding addresses to the "CC:" field. When you're done, click on either "Send Now" or "Send Later".

  • Open the "Write E-mail" window (F10).
  • Define a "To:" field (the e-mail address of the person to whom you're writing).
  • Define a "Subject:".
  • Define a "Cc:" field if there is anyone else to whom you want to send the same message.
  • Enter the text of the message.
  • Click on "Send Now" or "Send Later".

Q: What is my Address Book
A: This is where you can store e-mail addresses for quick reference. There are three categories of e-mail addresses:
  1. Personal Address Book, where you can create your own entries from scratch, or from other "Address Book" areas.
  2. Previously Sent menu, which holds all addresses that you have typed manually in an outgoing message (no replies or forwards), and
  3. Previously Received menu, which holds all addresses that were sent to you via e-mail.
In area "1", you can create a new e-mail message from any entry by selecting it and defining it as the "To:" or "Cc:" field (the buttons on the right). In the cases of areas "2" and "3", you can either create a new e-mail message OR add that e-mail address to your Personal Address Book.
